Bites, these bites will appear as small round spots with a dark centre (they may be itchy).
Fleas, you may spot very small reddish brown insects jumping around your home amongst the soft furnishings and carpet areas
Pets, If you have pets such as a cat or a dog they can pick up these nasty parasites while you walk them and the first sign they have fleas is a constant itching, scratching or licking themselves. To check to see if your beloved pet is the culprit is to check their fur, with a dog check the hind quarters and with a cat it is best to check the head and back of the neck. You can also check their skin for flea droppings which are very small and black in colour that look a little like very finely ground black pepper.
Pet Bedding and soft furnishings, You will often find signs of a flea infestation where you pet sits or sleeps so check for flea droppings, if you unsure if it is flea droppings or dirt place them in to a blow of water. If it turns red then it is flea droppings.
